East Midlands - Tour of Britain - Newark

1 year ago Mon 4th Sep 2023

On Wednesday 6th September Stage 4 of the Tour of Britain Cycle Race will take place in the East Midlands, finishing in Newark. This will cause significant disruption to Service 90 (90B, 90C) throughout the day.

Buses will divert via the A46 bypass and the Great North Road on all journeys. Stops along Farndon Road and Victoria Street cannot be served and the stops named Lombard Street will only be served by 90C buses to/from Fernwood. A full list of affected stops is shown below:

  • The Ivies
  • The Maltsters
  • Dorner Avenue
  • Boundary Road (Spring House)
  • Princes Street
  • Albert Street
  • Lombard Street (will continue to be served by 90C journeys only)

Passengers who normally use these stops should instead use Newark Bus Station (Bay A) as an alternative.

In addition buses arriving into Newark at 1400, 1500 & 1600 will terminate at the Wharf and buses departing for Nottingham at 1405, 1505 & 1612 will depart from the Wharf. This is due to the full closure of Lombard Street between 1330 & 1630.

A map of the diversion and affected stops is shown below.

Delays are expected to Service 90 as a result of this diversion, particularly in the late morning and early afternoon.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to our Service 90 passengers as a result of this event. A full regular service should resume from the morning of Thursday 7th September.
