East of England - Service Change June 2026

Yesterday Tue 12th May 2026

From Monday 1st June there will be significant changes to our Cambridgeshire and Peterborough networks following a re-tendering exercise by the Combined Authority and a review of our commercial services.

Service 61 - St Neots Town Shuttle

This service will be operated by Stephensons of Essex to a revised and reduced timetable.

Our last day of operation will be Saturday 30th May.

Service 67 - St Ives > St Neots

Service withdrawn.

We introduced Service 67 eighteen months ago around two contracted services however despite positive early growth usage of the route has stagnated and is unfortunately insufficient for us to continue operating the service on a standalone basis. As such we've had to take the difficult decision to withdraw the route in full.

Our last day of operation will be Sunday 31st May.

Service 68 - St Ives > Boxworth

This service will be operated by Stephensons of Essex and will be renumbered 69.

Our last day of operation will be Friday 29th May.

NHS Waterbeach Shuttle

Service withdrawn.

Our contract to operate the shuttle between Waterbeach Barracks and the Royal Papworth Hospital expires on Sunday 31st May. We do not believe the NHS are procuring a replacement service at this stage. Passengers should catch Service 100 to the City and change for buses towards Addenbrookes and Royal Papworth provided by Stagecoach or A2B.

Passengers with pre-purchased tickets for the NHS Waterbeach Shuttle may use any remaining tickets on Service 100 between Waterbeach and Cambridge centre until the end of June 2026.

Our last day of operation will be Sunday 31st May

Peterborough Network

We're relaunching our Peterborough routes 23, 24 and 25 to provide a combined and enhanced service to Orton Waterville as well as both Lynch Wood and Alwalton Hill business park.

  • Alwalton Hill will be served generally every 30 mins on weekdays and hourly at weekends.
  • Lynch Wood will be served generally every 30 mins on weekdays and will now gain an hourly weekend service.
  • In Lynch Wood buses will now operate in both directions with City bound buses picking up on the opposite side of the road.
  • Orton Waterville will gain a more regular service on all days with buses operating up to every 30 minutes between 6am and 7pm on weekdays and generally hourly in the late evening and throughout the day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Buses will operate as follows:

Service 23 - Weekday peak times only to Lynch Wood & Alwalton Hill via Thorpe Meadows and Orton Waterville.

Service 24 - Core service operating up to every 30 minutes to Lynch Wood & Alwalton Hill via Oundle Road and Orton Waterville.

Service 25 - Early mornings, late evenings and some peak journeys only operating to Alwalton Hill via Oundle Road and Orton Waterville. Service 25 journeys will not serve Lynch Wood.

Fares

Alongside the change in timetable we're also making some revisions to our Peterborough fares from Monday 1st June. There's no change to the flat single fare at £2.80 for Adults but U19 fares and some Day and Season passes will increase in price. TwoTogether tickets are withdrawn due to low usage.

We are also hoping to introduce Tiger Singles for those Under-25 and will confirm this as soon as we can reach agreement with the Cambridge and Peterborough Combined Authority.
