Essex - January 2026 Service Change

Following a review of our timetables and network performance we're making a number of changes to our services in Essex and Hertfordshire from Monday 5th January 2026. A trio of new services will also join our network from the same date. A summary of the changes are shown below. 

Timetable links are not yet active and will be provided from Tuesday 23rd December.

Service 2 - Harlow > Staple Tye

  • An additional journey will operate on weekday evenings departing Harlow Town Station at 2310.

Service 4 - Harlow > Latton Bush (Sundays)

Essex County Council has tendered an expanded timetable on Sunday service 4 to Latton Bush. However for reasons we don't quite understand journeys do not consistently align with the existing timetable so journeys at odd and even hours will run at slightly different times. Even hour departures on the new timetable will also extend to start from Harlow Town Railway Station.

Service 13 - Waltham Cross > North Weald

  • The 0550 13A journey from North Weald on weekdays is revised to operate as a 13C departing Ongar at 0545. This journey will no longer divert via Shernbroke Road.
  • There are minor revisions to a number of peak time journeys to better reflect traffic conditions along the route. 
  • The 1830 13B journey from Waltham Cross and the 1952 13A journey from Upshire on weekdays are withdrawn.
  • Saturday daytime journeys from St Margaret's Hospital will depart 1 minute later than at present. 
  • An additional short 13B will operate on Saturdays between St Margaret's Hospital and Epping Station only departing at 1740.

Service 14 - Waltham Cross > Upshire

  • An additional journey will operate on weekday evenings departing Upshire at 2005.

Service 15 - Waltham Cross > Harlow

With funding from Essex County Council Service 15 will be expanded to operate until approximately 2300 daily.

  • Additional weekday journeys will generally operate every 90 minutes departing Waltham Cross at 1905, 2035 & 2205 and from Harlow at 1910 & 2045. 
  • Additional Saturday journeys will generally operate every 2 hours departing Waltham Cross at 2010 and 2205 and from Harlow at 1915 and 2115.
  • There are also minor revisions to some weekday afternoon peak journeys to better reflect traffic conditions.

Service 16 - Waltham Cross > Shernbroke Road

  • A revised peak time timetable is introduced to better reflect traffic conditions.
  • A number of additional evening journeys are introduced. Combined with Service 13A buses will depart Waltham Cross towards Shernbroke Road every 45 minutes from 1835 until 2135. 
  • There are minor revisions to running times on a small number of Saturday journeys.

Service 20/21/22 - Harlow > Epping > Ongar

  • An additional short 20 journey from Potter Street to Harlow is introduced on weekdays at 0510.
  • There are minor revisions to a number of morning peak journeys with some journeys operating up to 5 minutes earlier than at present. 
  • The 1915 21 from Epping Station on weekdays is retimed to operate 5 minutes later at 1920.
  • An additional short 21 journey from Potter Street to Harlow is introduced on Saturdays at 0858.
  • A small number of Saturday evening journeys on Service 20 are retimed to operate 5 minutes later than at present. 
  • The 2245 22B from Harlow Monday-Saturday is renumbered 20 and extended through to Ongar via Epping and North Weald.

Service 24 - Harlow > River Way

A revised timetable is introduced on all days with additional journeys provided to extend the length of the weekday service.

Service 26 - Harlow > Little Parndon

  • An additional journey is introduced on weekday evenings departing Harlow Bus Station at 1950.

Service 27 - Harlow Linkbus

New Service 27 is introduced with funding from Essex County Council providing hourly links between Marks Hall (Minchin Road), Maddox Road, Harlow Centre, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Southern Way, Tumblers Road and New Hall (Maypole Boulevard Enterprise Park). 

Our standard Harlow Town fares will apply on Service 27.

Service 32 - Harlow > Broxbourne Station

New Service 32 is introduced on a limited basis with a small number of journeys operating in the early morning and mid evening only between Harlow Centre, Staple Tye, Broadley Common and Nazeing.

Service 34 - Bishop's Stortford > St Michael's Hurst

  • We're increasing the weekday daytime timetable to operate every 30 minutes.
  • An additional journey will depart Bishop's Stortford at 1825 to provide a later peak time connection for those commuting from London.

Service 60 - Warley > Brentwood > Pilgrims Hatch 

Following feedback from passengers and Brentwood residents, a revised weekday timetable is introduced with earlier and later journeys between Brentwood Station and Pilgrims Hatch. 

There are also minor revisions to peak time journeys to better reflect traffic conditions.

Service 331/332/333 - Stansted Airport > Braintree

A revised timetable is introduced on all days with weekday 333 journeys diverting via Helena Romanes School renumbered to 332. 

  • Service 331 and 332 journeys on weekdays will serve the grounds of Helena Romanes School. These journeys are retimed to better reflect traffic conditions and provide more suitable arrival and departure times from Helena Romanes.
  • Weekday peak time journeys on Service 333 are revised to better reflect traffic conditions with additional running time provided. 
  • Daytime journeys on all days are revised to depart from both Stansted Airport and Braintree Interchange at xx10 instead of xx15.

Service 407 - Old Harlow > Princess Alexandra Hospital

Essex County Council have contracted us to introduce an hourly Sunday timetable on Service 407 alongside the existing Monday-Saturday service provided by First Essex. 

Our standard Harlow Town fares will apply on Service 407. Due to contractual restrictions tickets will not be interchangeable between the Monday-Saturday and Sunday services.

Service HL1 - Broxbourne Station > High Leigh

  • An additional weekday morning journey is introduced departing High Leigh at 0600 providing an earlier connection with Greater Anglia services to London at Broxbourne Station.
  • The 0630 journey from Broxbourne Station on weekdays is retimed to depart at 0625 and will run 5 minutes earlier throughout.
  • To better reflect traffic conditions and align journeys with school finishing times buses between 1500 and 1800 will operate at a revised frequency of every 30-40 minutes.
  • There are no changes to the weekend timetable.
