Essex - Rescheduled Take-Off for Service 333

In March, Central Connect advised we'd be launching Service 333 on Monday 2nd June, to partially replace Service 133 being withdrawn by Arriva. Our initial offering was to cover the Monday-Friday daytime service with limited Saturday journeys, matching what we believed would be commercially sustainable based on the data provided to us. 

Working in partnership with Stansted Airport we are now delighted to advise that we will be launching a revised and enhanced timetable from Sunday 1st June. With funding from Stansteds Sustainable Transport Levy, buses will now continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full details of the new timetable can be found below.

We'll also be upgrading the vehicles we planned to use on Service 333 wither higher spec, higher capacity buses phased in over Summer 2025.

Service 333 Timetable

Our Service 333 timetable has been enhanced and expanded and now features:

• Buses running 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
• Buses will generally run hourly in the daytime (0500-1900)
• Buses will generally run every two hours through the late evening and nighttime (with one three hour gap towards Braintree).
• Special timetables will operate on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day - these will be published closer to the festive season. 

Our service will start at 02:40 from Braintree on Sunday 1st June to ensure a seamless continuation for passengers after Arrivas last 133 journey at 00:15 from Stansted Airport.

Service 333 Route

Service 333 will follow an almost identical route to the existing Arriva 133 however buses departing Braintree towards Stansted Airport will run via Station Approach and serve Braintree Station, providing connections from Greater Anglia services.

Service 333 Fares

Our fare structure for Service 333 has now been confirmed:

• Single fares will continue to be capped at £3 in line with the national bus fare cap, until 31st December 2025.
• Premium fares will apply on overnight journeys between 00:00 and 05:00, however these will also be included within the £3 fare cap until 31st December 2025.
• Day, Week & Month passes will be available for regular travellers.
• Child fares will be available to those under the age 19. Under 5s will travel free.
• Airport Travelcards for Zones 1-4 will be accepted.
• English National Concessionary Travel Scheme passes will be accepted. Essex CC pass holders will be entitled to free travel between 0900 and 0000 on weekdays with passes issued by all other English authorities valid between 0930 and 2300. All passes are valid at all times on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
• Mobile tickets will be available via the myTrip app.
