School Services 812 / 813

From the end of the current academic year our local bus services 812 & 813 which provide links to/from Bassingbourn Village College are being withdrawn. 

As a private bus operator, we have always aimed to provide a reliable service for communities where local authority school transport is not available. While our routes are planned and operated as public bus services, using a mix of seated and standing capacity, we know that parents using these specific school-focused routes have expressed a strong preference and expectation for all students to have a guaranteed seat, similar to a dedicated school bus service.

We have carefully reviewed our ability to consistently meet this expectation. Unfortunately, due to the operational realities of running a local bus service that is open to the public, and the need to occasionally use different vehicles (which may have varying seating capacities), it is not feasible for us to guarantee a seat for every passenger on every journey. We do not want to make promises we cannot consistently keep.

Therefore, after much consideration, we have concluded that we cannot continue to operate these services under the expectations that have arisen. 

The last day of operation will be Friday 18th July 2025.
