Major Essex Network Changes from 26th July
Today
From Sunday 26th July, there will be changes to various services across our Essex & Hertfordshire networks following re-tendering exercises at Essex County Council, awards of Hertfordshire BSIP funding, awards of Essex 'Love Your Bus' funding and a review of our commercial services in the region.
Service 1 (Harlow to Sumners & Katherines)
The timetable on Sundays will be revised, with services also no longer operating between Harlow Town Rail Station & Harlow Bus Station. The Monday to Saturday timetable and route are unchanged.

Service 2 (Harlow to Staple Tye)
The timetable on Sundays will be enhanced to generally run hourly through the day.
As a result of these service enhancements, services 2, 4 & 23 will now operate a combined 20 minute frequency between Harlow Bus Station & Harlow Town Rail Station throughout the day on Sundays. The Monday to Saturday timetable and route are unchanged.

Service 4 (Harlow to Latton Bush)
The Sunday timetable on this service at a 60 minute frequency, with all journeys now additionally starting from Harlow Town Rail Station.
As a result of these service enhancements, services 2, 4 & 23 will now operate a combined 20 minute frequency between Harlow Bus Station & Harlow Town Rail Station throughout the day on Sundays. The Monday to Saturday timetable and route are unchanged.

Service 5 (Harlow to Sumners Farm)
A revised weekend timetable will be introduced, with Saturday evening journeys after 19:00 being withdrawn due to low usage. However, the Sunday timetable will be enhanced to run with an even two-hourly frequency through the day.
The Monday to Friday timetable and route are unchanged.

Service 7/7A (Stansted Airport to Bishops Stortford via Elsenham)
We are pleased to announce that we will be operating services 7 & 7A on behalf of Essex County Council, which are currently operated by Stephensons of Essex. This service will operate Monday to Saturday as it currently does, but there will be some timetable changes including revised departure times and reduced journeys at some points through the day.

Service 8 (Rettendon to Wickford)
We are pleased to be introducing a new off-peak service on this route, operating Monday to Friday only at a two hourly frequency. A small number of peak time & Saturday journeys have been withdrawn.

Service 10/10A (Wickford to Basildon or Billericay)
The off-peak frequency of this service will be enhanced to operate hourly on weekdays between Wickford Station and Ramsden Heath through the introduction of new service 10A, which will follow the route of the 10 as far as Ramsden Heath (The White Horse) before then operating to Billericay Rail Station & High Street.

Service 12 (Wickford to Billericay via Crays Hill)

Service 13/13A/13B/13C/14 (Waltham Cross to North Weald via Waltham Abbey & Epping)
The Monday to Friday frequency on this route will be doubled for the majority of the day, with buses generally operating at a 30 minute frequency. There will additionally be a generally revised timetable operating on Saturdays with buses generally running 10 minutes later than present during the middle of the day.

Service 15/15A (Waltham Cross to Harlow via Waltham Abbey)
New timetables will be introduced on all days of the week, with more consistent departure times throughout the day.

Service 16/16C (Waltham Cross to Shernbroke Road & Loughton (Sundays))
A revised Monday to Saturday timetable is introduced with more consistent peak time departures on weekday evenings. An additional journey will also operate in the morning to provide an earlier arrival into Waltham Cross. On Saturdays buses will return to running every generally every 30 minutes but will use one of our smaller style vehicles.
Sunday services operating as service 16C are unchanged and will continue to operate as they do now.

Service 17/17A (Debden to Loughton)
This service will now be operated by Stephensons of Essex with some peak time journeys and the Sunday timetable withdrawn, please see their website for details of any changes.
Service 18/18C (Loughton to North Weald via Epping)
The Monday to Saturday daytime frequency will be increased from two-hourly to hourly and a limited number of additional weekday evening trips will also be introduced, however early morning variant 18A will be withdrawn. The Sunday timetable and route are unchanged.

Service 19/19A (High Ongar to North Weald via Theydon Bois & Epping)
We are pleased to announce the introduction of new services 19/19A, providing new links from High Ongar to Epping & North Weald via Little End, Abridge and Theydon Bois. This service will operate Monday to Friday only, generally every two hours. Additionally, one journey each way will operate as service 19A and serve Epping St Johns School on schooldays. Service 19A journeys will not serve Epping station.

Service 20/21/22/22B (Harlow to Ongar via Epping & North Weald)
A revised Monday to Saturday timetable will be introduced to improve peak time reliability and to improve coordination with other routes between Epping & North Weald.

Service 23 (Harlow to Church Langley)
We are pleased to announce the introduction of a daytime service on service 23 between Harlow Bus Station & Church Langley, which will now operate every 15 minutes Monday to Friday and every 30 minutes on Saturdays. Connections to Harlow Town Rail Station are available using service 24 through the day, but evening services will continue to serve the rail station.
The existing Sunday service will be enhanced to operate every 60 minutes, but will continue to serve Harlow Town Rail Station. As a result of these service enhancements, services 2, 4 & 23 will now operate a combined 20 minute frequency between Harlow Bus Station & Harlow Town Rail Station throughout the day on Sundays.

Service 24 (Harlow to River Way)
A revised Monday to Saturday timetable will be introduced to improve reliability, with the introduction of additional Saturday afternoon trips.

Service 25/25B/25C (Harlow to Brookfield Centre & Waltham Cross via Rye Park & Hoddesdon)
A revised Monday to Saturday timetable will be introduced to improve reliability, with the addition of extra trips operating at peak times, additional evening journeys (supported by Hertfordshire County Council's Bus Service Improvement Plan funding) and one journey to & from Waltham Cross which will operate as service 25C.

Service 26 (Harlow to Little Parndon)
A revised Monday to Friday timetable will be introduced, with peak time & evening departures modified. On Sundays, a modified timetable will be in place with extensions from Harlow Bus Station to Town Rail Station withdrawn, but replaced with a new combined frequency on services 2, 4 & 23.

Service 27 (Moot House to New Hall)
A new timetable will be introduced to improve reliability, with the frequency revised to operate every 70 minutes.

Service 28 (Harlow to Old Harlow)
The Monday to Friday timetable is unchanged, but the Saturday timetable will be withdrawn, as Essex County Council have chosen not to continue funding these lightly used journeys.

Service 32/32A (Harlow to Broxbourne)
An additional journey will operate towards Broxbourne Station on weekday mornings, plus the existing 801 school route will be integrated as service 32A. The afternoon 32A journey will additionally operate on all weekdays, not just school days.

Service 33/33A (Bishops Stortford to Harlow or Hoddesdon via High Wych)
A revised timetable will be introduced through the day to reduce the journey time, where this was previously causing buses to wait at timing points through the day. Additional peak journeys will be introduced as service 33A between Bishops Stortford & Harlow via Sawbridgeworth & High Wych.

Service 45 (South Woodham Ferrers to Dengie)

Service 46 (Chelmsford to Ongar)
We will be introducing two weekday evening return journeys on this route, as an enhancement to the existing First service along this route. Valid FirstBus day tickets will be accepted on these journeys. This service is funded by Essex County Council through 'Love Your Bus' funding.

Service 60 (Pilgrims Hatch to Warley via Brentwood)
A revised timetable will be introduced on all days, with frequencies in the peak enhanced to operate every 30 minutes. The Saturday service will also be enhanced to operate at an hourly frequency through the day with existing gaps in departures removed and will additionally have an extended operating day in both the morning and evening.

Service 64 (Ongar to Warley via Brentwood)
This new service will operate on weekdays only and will follow the route of the NIBS 21 service, operating when that service isn't running - primarily in the early morning and late evening with some additional off peak journeys as well. NIBS bus tickets will not be valid for travel on this service, but we will be providing a variety of our excellent value tickets for sale on this route. This service is funded by Essex County Council through 'Love Your Bus' funding.

Service 99 (Maldon to Broomfield Hospital via Woodham Walter & Chelmsford)

Service 251 (Rettendon to Warley via Runwell, Wickford, Billericay & Brentwood)
We are pleased to announce that we will be operating service 251 on Sundays, with an enhanced timetable in operation from this date. Services will operate every 1-2 hours along the existing route, but with most journeys additionally extended to & from Rettendon.

Service 305 (Stansted Airport to Bishops Stortford via Takeley & The Hatfields)

Service 315/325 (The Hallingburys to Bishops Stortford)
These services have been withdrawn from this date, following the end of the current contract.
Service 322/323/324 (Bishops Stortford to Lindsell or Stebbing via Great Dunmow)
This service will now be operated by Stephensons of Essex with a revised timetable, please see their website for details of any changes.
Service 331/332/333 (Stansted Airport to Braintree via Takeley & Great Dunmow)
The 16:20 & 17:30 333 journeys from Braintree will be revised to depart at 16:25 & 17:25 respectively and will have revised running times throughout to improve reliability. All other journeys will be unchanged.

Service 335 (Bishops Stortford to Takeley)
This service will be withdrawn from this date.
Service 397A (Debden to Salisbury Hall Sainsburys)
One round trip will operate on weekday evenings between Debden & Salisbury Hall Sainsburys, following the same route as TfL route 397. TfL Contactless fares will not apply to this service, but Oyster card holders will be accepted for travel without additional cost. A flat fare of £1 will be offered for all other journeys.

We are pleased to be introducing new services A1/A2/A3 on weekdays only, providing off-peak journeys between Waltham Abbey & Waltham Cross via Holdbrook Estate (A1), Roundhills (A2) & Sewardstone (A3). This will significantly enhance, but supplement existing services to these areas to provide new journey opportunities. Service A3 will additionally provide connections from Waltham Abbey onto TfL route 215 towards Chingford Mount & Walthamstow.
