Major roadworks in Peterborough

From Monday 27th July for approx 6 weeks, Peterborough Road between Farcet and Stanground in Peterborough will be closed for bridge repairs. As a result of these works, services 26 & 26A will be unable to complete their normal loop routes and will be operated as two separate sections on weekdays.

Buses will continue to operate to the current timetable, but the link between Farcet and Stanground will be severed with buses operating a conventional ‘in/out’ pattern to and from Queensgate.

Service 26 from Queensgate bus station will operate as normal as far as Stanground ALDI, where it will then terminate and not operate through to Farcet or Yaxley. From Stanground ALDI, services will then return to Queensgate Bus Station as service 26A at normal times.

Service 26A from Queensgate bus station will operate as normal through Longthorpe, Lodge Way & Yaxley as far as Farcet Main Street, where it will terminate and not operate through to Stanground. From Farcet Main Street, services will then return to Queensgate Bus Station as service 26 at normal times. 

As a result of the above arrangements, the following stops will not have a service for the duration of these works:

• Farcet, St Marys Street
• Farcet, Lawrence Avenue
• Farcet, Peterborough Road
• Stanground, College
• Stanground, Old Health Centre

Saturday journeys are unaffected as the Fletton > Stanground > Farcet section currently operates on weekday daytimes only.
